Malta u l-politika

Ittri ċċensurati u punti ta' riflessjoni politika.

“PN general secretary Joe Saliba also criticised the MLP billboards. He said the billboards say aghzel Labour (Choose Labour), but the Maltese should not choose between the MLP or PN.” - The Times 10.5.2004

Joe Saliba tkaza ghax l-MLP qal lill-poplu biex jivvota lill-kandidati li hargu f'isem il-Partit Laburista ghax ghall-elezzjoni ghall-Parlament Ewropew kien kemm l-MLP, l-Alternattiva Demokratika u l-PN bil-kandidati taghhom.

Ezattament, il-kandidati li hargu ghall-elezzjoni mal-PN dawk x'hinuma? Laburisti? Indipendenti? Jew huma Nazzjonalisti? La hargu mal-PN saru parti mill-partit. Jekk ma riedux jiccapsu mal-politika imisshom hargu indipendenti u l-integrita' taghhom kienet tibqa, imma la hargu mal-PN ma tistax tifridhom mill-partit. Ejjew ma ninsewx x'qal l-istess Joe Saliba fil-kazin Nazzjonalista ta' B'Kara nhar it-2 ta' Mejju 2004 …

"vote for those who have the best credentials and I’m sure, he added, that the PN candidates will come out on top.” –  (The Malta Independent 3.5.2004)

Prova ohra ta' kemm il-Partit Nazzjonalista ried lill-poplu jivvota lill-kandidati tieghu tigi mill-editorjal ta' The Malta Independent tal-10.5.2004, "Dr. Gonzi ... urged people to vote for PN candidates."

U Lawrence Gonzi kompla f'Haz Zebbug. The Times 17.5.2004 ikkwotatu hekk, "Voters should vote for all the Nationalist Party candidates ..." Huwa car li l-Partit Nazzjonalista ra dawn l-elezzjonijiet bhala vot ta' fiducja fil-partit innifsu li qieghed fil-Gvern u dan fi zmien fejn qed tkompli l-mewga ta' kritika harxa kontra l-istess gvern Nazzjonalista.

X'jahsibna dan Joe Saliba li ahna cwiec? Mhux ovvja li l-PN qal lill-poplu biex jivvota lill-kandidati Nazzjonalisti? Mela filwaqt li tkaza li l-MLP heggeg lill-poplu jivvota ghal-kandidati li hargu mieghu, Joe Saliba ma jsib xejn hazin f'li jheggeg lill-istess poplu jivvota ghal-kandidati li hargu mal-PN!! X'ipokrizija twahhax!!!

Sur Saliba aghmel pjacir lil dan in-nazzjon u ttratta lill-poplu b'mod ahjar jekk jghogbok!!

L-ahhar musmar li sammar lil Joe Saliba gie minn wahda mill-kandidati Nazzjonalisti ghall-elezzjoni. Hadd hlief Roberta Tedesco Triccas li f'Il-Mument tas-6 ta' Gunju mhux talli ma mxietx ma' dak li qal Saliba talli appellat hekk lill-poplu Malti u Ghawdxi ...

"Hu ghalhekk importanti li l-poplu Malti u Ghawdxi jivvota ghall-kandidati tal-Partit Nazzjonalista biss."

Hekk hu ghall-PN biss qalet Roberta, imbaghad Joe Saliba tkaza ghax l-MLP heggeg lill-poplu jivvota ghal-kandidati li hargu mieghu!!

L-ipokrizija Nazzjonalista kompluta.

The Sunday Times 6.6.2004

Joe Saliba jghid li l-PN se jirbah l-elezzjoni tal-kunsill lokali tal-2007 fil-Mosta ...

u l-Mostin taw rebha lill-Partit Laburista u l-PN tilef il-maggoranza fil-Mosta.

Jekk Dr. Fenech Adami ma halla xejn lill-Partit Nazzjonalista, zgur halla t-timbru tieghu ta' kliem vojt, bla sens u bbazat fuq fantasija imnissla minn xewqa biex ihammeg lill-haddiehor. F'partijiet ohra ta' din il-website hemm ezempji ta' gideb mill-PN u fil-pagna fuq Dr. Lawrence Gonzi hemm ezempju klassiku ta' gideb ivvintat kontra l-MLP. Minn naha tieghu is-segretarju generali tal-PN Joe Saliba jaghmel hiltu kollha sabiex ilahhaq mal-mexxej tieghu fuq dan is-suggett. U hawn ezempju eccellenti ta' dan ukoll …

Fil-gurnal The Times tas-26 ta' Jannar 2005 qrajna li Joe Saliba gie mistoqsi dwar is-sehem tal-Vici Sindku Nazzjonalista ta' Hal Safi f'attivitajiet tal-estremista Norman Lowell. Qrajna hekk: Asked whether the PN was contemplating to proceed against Alexis Callus, the Nationalist deputy mayor of Safi, party general secretary Joe Saliba said: “Mr Callus was honest enough to admit having made a mistake. That's enough for me. Only Nationalist politicians are decent enough to make an apology”.

Prosit. Mela Joe Saliba qalilna li huma n-Nazzjonalisti biss li huma nies dicenti ghax huma biss jitolbu skuza. Ovvjament ghalih m'hawnx ghar mill-Laburisti, dawk qatt ma jitolbu apologija!!!

Fl-istess harga ta' The Times, nirrepeti FL-ISTESS HARGA, qrajna: “MP apologises. Labour MP Joe Abela said yesterday he wanted to apologise to the Prime Minister and his family if remarks he made in an adjournment speech on January 17 had caused offence. Mr Abela said that in his speech he had sought to report the people's feelings about the government's plans for the Marsascala waste recycling plant.”

Sur Saliba aghmel pjacir lill-MLP u IBQA segretarju generali tal-PN, xejn xejn qalb ir-ruxmata problemi li ghandna fil-pajjiz, tajjeb li xi kultant tfakkarna dwar il-bzonn li l-PN jitnehha mill-poter illum qabel ghada.

Tghid Joe Saliba se jitlob apologija lill-politici Laburisti wara l-gidba li qal fuqhom?

Iz-zewgt ucuh ta’ Joe Saliba

Il-kaz tal-mossa moqzieza tal-PN biex icahhad lin-nies taz-Zejtun u tal-Marsa biex ma jiehdux sehem fl-elezzjoni tal-Kunsilli Lokali tat-12 ta’ Marzu 2005

Qabel l-elezzjoni

The Times 10 ta’ Marzu 2005

Mr Saliba attributes the decision to the party strategy group but refuses to disclose the reasons behind it. "We cannot state why we did it. The moment we do, it ceases to be a strategy. Isn't it obvious that if I were to tell you the reasons behind the Marsa and Zejtun pull-out rival parties will work to counter that strategy?" So people will know the reason behind the strategy after the election. “Absolutely,” he said.

Wara l-elezzjoni

The Malta Independent 15 ta’ Marzu 2005

Going against the Prime Minister’s decision not to divulge the Nationalist Party’s ‘secret strategy’ would be foolish, said secretary general Joe Saliba yesterday when contacted for comments by The Malta Independent. TMID asked Mr Saliba to comment on the fact that Dr Gonzi yesterday ruled out the possibility of the party spilling the beans regarding the controversial strategy to pull out the PN’s candidates from the Zejtun and Marsa local council elections. “I have to obey my boss,” he said. Mr Saliba had told The Times last Thursday that he would “absolutely” tell the people the reason behind the strategy after the election.

X’jindika dan kollu? Huwa ovvju li lil Joe Saliba ma tistax temmnu. Jekk kien hemm kunsens qabel l-elezzjoni li l-poplu jinghata spjega ghall-manuvra tal-PN, allura Dr. Gonzi kien imissu halla l-informazzjoni tohrog u mhux halla lil Joe Saliba johrog ta’ mazetta. Jekk minn naha l-ohra ma kienx hemm kunsens fil-PN li tinghata spjegazzjoni ghaliex saret din il-manuvra, allura Joe Saliba gideb meta qabel l-elezzjoni qal li l-PN kien se jaghti sodisfazzjon lill-poplu. Aghzlu liema raguni tridu imma xorta jibqa l-fatt li l-PN f’din l-istorja rega ghal darba ohra dahak bil-poplu.

Xi jghidu fuq Joe Saliba

Vincent Aquilina

Ex Vici Sindku Nazzjonalista ta’ San Giljan

“I fully agree … that the general secretary of the Nationalist Party should consider resigning. Last Christmas, l wrote to the general secretary, seeking permission to have my name included in the list of PN candidates contesting the local election in St Julian's. Having already served as a councillor and two terms as deputy mayor, l thought I would be a valuable asset to the council, and the party, if I were to be elected, since I am now retired and l could dedicate more time to the welfare of St Julian's. To date l have received no answer or even a usual polite acknowledgement of my application. When l wrote to the general secretary, I sent a copy of the letter to the mayor of St Julian's. Even a letter turning down my request would have sufficed, and no explanation would have been necessary but to ignore a request by a former councillor of eight years' standing to stand again for election, is a downright disgrace.”

The Sunday Times 10.4.2005

Victor Ragonesi

Ex Segretarju Generali tal-Partit Nazzjonalista

Should the PN’s secretary general assume responsibility for the party’s defeat in the recent elections? “Of course, definitely. He should explain why this happened and not invent excuses.”

Intervista ma’ MaltaToday 27.3.2005

Stephen Cachia

Deputy Chairperson Alternattiva Demokratika

“PN general secretary Joe Saliba is fudging the truth … I must express my strong disappointment at the manner in which Joe Saliba has misrepresented AD’s generous and sincere attempts to achieve agreement and consensus.”

The Malta Independent 12.1.2007

“Even in victory Joe Saliba has no sense of morality and no respect for the truth. Just a few days after the Prime Minister promised an inclusive and humble government, Joe Saliba is continuing to show all the signs of political arrogance by repeating a blatant lie,” said Mr Cachia. “Joe Saliba should apologise immediately to Harry Vassallo for the smear campaign he started at the end of the electoral campaign, and which, it seems, he wants to continue even now that the campaign is over.”

The Malta Independent 19.3.2008
